My time at Indiana University has provided me with such amazing involvement experiences. Some of my favorites include things such as volunteering at a local Bloomington elementary school to teach at an after school program. This was focused on developing the children's reading and math skills. I also was an event volunteer and the Lotus Festival, a local annual event held in Bloomington each year. Last year I attended an alternate spring break trip to rebuild homes in New Orleans, I also raised money for Indiana University Dance Marathon and was a member of the Professional Tourism Management Club. Most recently, I have been involved with planning events for the local non-profit, Habitat for Humanity.
My leadership experience thus far has included the Executive board of Theta Phi Alpha, being a mentor/teacher to underprivileged children in the Bloomington community, and being selected by my sisterhood to represent our chapter at a national leadership conference this past summer. This gave me the opportunity to grow and develop my leadership skills so I can apply them to future leadership positions.
